“I noticed that this method helps shy people talk about their point of view and their ideas...I think it can be widely used during our retrospectives or other events to make the working atmosphere more friendly, increase the level of creativity in teams, and get people to say what they are thinking.”

Guided Team Session - ON-SITE OR REMOTE

Alex West will guide your group through a VTS session and share the background of the practice. During your 90-minute session, participants will explore and discuss three pieces of art. You’ll then have an opportunity to examine the experience and learn how to apply it in your workflow. Group are kept small - 10-20 individuals - to maximize participation and dialogue. This is a perfect solution for team-building events or agile retrospectives.

Facilitator Workshop

This 1-day workshop introduces managers, lean/agile leaders, coaches, and facilitators to the Art at Work program. We'll begin with an introduction to the concepts, background, and learning outcomes of VTS. Teaching through demonstration, Alex West will facilitate a VTS session with the entire group so attendees can experience the process first-hand. During this interactive exercise, we’ll discuss selected works of art and then have the opportunity to review initial impressions of the method. Participants learn the basics of image selection and facilitating Art at Work sessions within their own organizations. We'll break down the various components of the technique and dig into why & how the process works. Break-out sessions allow all workshop participants to try their hand at leading their own sessions. We’ll discuss how this tool can be applied  in your specific environments and everyone will leave with a toolkit of online resources to take back to their team.
